The Animator and the Assistant

Drawing from 1978:  Working as an assistant animator at Hanna-Barbera.  Ahh, those were the days!

  1. Apart from the glasses, that's a pretty good caricature of my dad!

  2. That's a combo-caricature of a few of the veteran animators who worked at HB at the time. Maybe a mix of Mo Gollub and Morey Redden, with a dash of Ray Patterson and a little bit of Bob Goe.

    We thought they'd never end.
We'd sing and dance forever and a day.
We'd live the life we'd choose.
    We'd fight and never lose.
For we were young and sure to have our way!

Sorry, just came to mind. Nice pic! :)

  8. Your design in 1978 looked like the Paul Coker Jr.'s (from MAD magazine) design.
